The time of year when you might see more evidence of termites is between March and September, when termites tend to swarm and leave behind discarded wings and droppings. But in the Southeast, this period of activity can extend into the winter months if temperatures stay moderate. So, to answer the question we are often asked, “Where do bugs go in winter?” Our short answer is: no matter what termite species exists in your home, if termites can find a warm, temperature-regulated spot (like a basement), then they will stay active all winter long.
